WANTED: Entrepreneurs, Engineers, Builders, Innovators Disruptors, Designers

We are looking for advanced students and professionals in the field of tech, science, engineering, business or design to work on real cases of Porsche's digital production. Please apply until August 31, 2021, so we will have enough time to match the teams.

Application requirements:

Everyone aiming to build next-level digital production solutions can apply.

You can apply either as a team of 4-5 people or as single participant and we will match you to other teams based on your profile. Smaller teams will be complemented with others.

Full availability in Leipzig for the 3-day Hackathon plus virtual kick-off meeting 2 weeks before.

For your application we ask you to send us your CV and a motivation letter explaining why you want to join the Porsche Digital Production Hackathon.

Please select a role, that describes you best. If you apply as a team please make sure, that different roles are covered, at least one person needs to have tech, data, programming or engineering knowledge.

Do I have to be a student to be part of the Hackathon?

Everyone who feels up for a new challenge can apply. 

I’m not a programmer, can I still register?

Yes, we aim for highly interdisciplinary teams and appreciate all kinds of applicants.

Do I have to be vaccinated to participate?

At this point we would highly recommend to get vaccinated.

Do I need a complete team to apply?

No, as long as you are open to work with others on one of the challenges and bring in some special talent or knowledge. Team size is expected to be 4-5 people with different roles.

When will I know if I am accepted as a participant?

You will receive the first feedback in the application process in August, and final admissions will be published by 1st September.

Is there a prize for the winning team?

Yes, the winning team gets a cash prize by Porsche of 5.000 € and a wild card for Batch #5 of the HHL DIGITAL SPACE incubation program starting in January 2022.

What if I have to cancel my participation?

We will have a waiting list and kindly ask you to let us know, so we can give your spot to somebody else.

Will my knowledge be acquired by Porsche?

All information shared with you during the Hackathon will remain property of the creator.

When will I meet my team the first time?

We will let you know 2 weeks before the hackathon who is joining your team so you can get to know each other.

Will the scenarios for the hackathon be available before the actual Hackathon days?

Yes, you will get access to the use case information 2 weeks before the Hackathon. However, the real working time starts onsite.

I would like to develop a prototype for the scenario, will access to a cloud platform be provided?

Yes, the teams that want to write code can get a test account on AWS.

Will the event be in Leipzig?

The aim is to run this as a physical event at the Porsche production site in Leipzig. Further information with regards to COVID regulations will follow. There will be alternatives if physical attendance is not possible.
